Unexpected Alliances, Strange Kinships. Responsibility and Joint Responsibility

This video is a recording of the second round-table dicussion that took place in the sixth edition of Archives of the Commons on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. In the discussion, Awel Haouati (the Archive of Women’s Struggles in Algeria), Marta Hernangómez (the Historical Archive of Social Movements) and Marjolaine David Briand (Red Constelaciones) consider, with Buraya Boned and Lucía Cañada, questions around how to work and build archives with divergent social agents, and how to trace boundaries and overflows with joint responsibly and interdependently. Furthermore, the conversation digs deeper into the strategies and alliances that allow for material conditions to sustain archives over time, while also guaranteeing the agency and autonomy of communities’ archive processes.
