Ordinary, Common and Public. Common Fixes for Ordinary Communities

This video is a recording of the third session of the Sociología Ordinaria Encounters #14, Ordinary, Common and Public. Common Fixes for Ordinary Communities, held on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Sociología Ordinaria is a research group from the Complutense University of Madrid’s (UCM) Sociology Department which explores daily knowledge deemed ordinary, superficial or frivolous from a traditional academic viewpoint. 

The session begins with Common Spaces (III): Public Intimacies, with the participation of Ignacio Moreno Segarra, Nerea Alonso Miguel and Francesco Manno, while Paula Varela-Fernández and Kaia Baena Mínguez conduct the action performance Crucified by the Gaze: Gods, Prosthesis and Disobedience of the Body. This is followed by Cartographies for Thinking with Care, with Andrea García-Santesmases Fernández, Cielo Puello, Fanny Torres, Melisa Duque and Ana Martínez Pérez. The session concludes with a performance lecture by the Sopa Sólida collective (Selina Blasco, Javier Pérez Iglesias and Gloria G. Durán), “Don’t Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth”: Popular Knowledge and Collective Energy for Academic Life.
