Gerardo Mosquera: Island Thinker, Global Curator

This video is a recording of the round-table discussion organised to pay homage to Gerardo Mosquera (Havana, 1945) on 19 May 2026. Presented by Museo Reina Sofía director Manuel Segade, and featuring the participation of Mosquera alongside art critics, thinkers and artists such as Fernando Castro Flórez, Diana Cuéllar, LillebitFadraga and René Francisco Rodríguez, the encounter spotlights Mosquera’s curatorial and theoretical work with projects revolving around debates on globalisation, post-identity and the dilemmas that perforate the concept of “Latin American art”, while constantly maintaining a committed ethical position.
