Escena. Personajes a la salida de un concierto de rock (Scene. Figures Leaving a Rock Concert)

Guillermo Pérez Villalta is the creator of a multidisciplinary oeuvre encompassing design, painting, sculpture and ephemeral architecture that establishes him as a total artist and one of Spanish Postmodernism’s most unique voices. Trained at the Madrid School of Architecture, this discipline left a visible mark on his pictorial work, with a perspective prominently featuring classical and Renaissance influences, as well as both cultured and popular Andalusian references.

Seeking a theme for a historical painting that would capture the late 1970s Madrid Zeitgeist, Villalta found it at an Ateneo Libertario concert by Kaka de Luxe and Los Zombies: "... and just as we were leaving that concert, on the stairs, a group of people gathered, climbing up the railings, still dancing and carrying their guitars. In that moment, I saw it: that was the historic moment that later became Personajes a la salida de un concierto de rock..."
