Held on 07 jun 2018

This conference is part of a collaboration set up between the Museo Reina Sofía and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (the Open University of Catalonia) for the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Oriented towards critical and reflective studies, it sets out from a contemporary and expansive notion of Fine Arts which questions the traditional limits of artistic practice.

During the encounter, different experts and leading figures from innovative teaching practices will discuss the current challenges and potential collaboration strategies between museums and universities to produce and transfer knowledge. More specifically, how this relationship could be instrumental in training multi-faceted artists, considering how they hybridise and question practical and theoretical, formal and non-formal, institutional and non-institutional aspects, and so on.

The aim is to strike up a process of long-term dialogue to jointly generate fertile ground for learning, defying established institutional limits whilst transforming the agents involved.
