Presentation of History Doesn’t Repeat Itself, but It Does Rhyme. Dumile Feni: African Guernica

The Museo Reina Sofía presents this exhibition, which inaugurates a new series of interventions in the Museum’s Collection consisting of juxtaposing an equivalent to Guernica from another period or geopolitical context, framed by academic art‑historical research as an interpretive framework.
On Tuesday, March 24, at 11:00 a.m., the Museo Reina Sofía will hold a press conference to present History Doesn’t Repeat Itself, but It Does Rhyme. Dumile Feni: African Guernica, which will be open to the public from March 25 to September 22, 2026.
The Director of the Museo Reina Sofía, Manuel Segade, together with the exhibition’s curator, Tamar Garb, will present the exhibition to the media in the Museum’s Cinema, located on the Floor 1 of the Sabatini Building.
A guided tour of the exhibition will follow, located in Room 205.08, opposite Pablo Picasso’s Guernica, on the Floor 2 of the Sabatini Building.
