Director of Communications
Responsibilities
Directing, coordinating and supervising the Press, Internal Communications, Image and Design, Digital Projects and Website, Social Media and Publicity areas, and the design and development of their plans, and the narrative framework and reporting of the Museo, in addition to guaranteeing accessibility and inclusion for all potential visitors and enhancing the Museo’s sense of social responsibility, under the terms established in the Resolution of 24 May 2024 (Provision 11110 of the Official State Gazette, 1 June 2024).
Academic background
She holds a BA in Humanities from the Carlos III University of Madrid, an MA in Corporate and Institutional Web 2.0 Communication from the University of Alcalá and an MA in Online Reputation and Community Management from the University of Barcelona.
Professional experience
In July 2024 Diana was named the Museo Reina Sofía’s director of Communications, a role she currently holds. From 2017 to 2024 she was Press Coordinator at the same institution. In 2010 she was appointed the director of Communications, Marketing and Community Management at the Casa del Lector, a cultural space under the Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation, and before that, from 2007, she served as director of Communications at Spain’s Ministry of Culture, managing the Ministry’s Strategic Master Plan in Communications and its Directorate-General. In 2004 she performed the role of Press and Publications Officer at Instituto Cervantes, coordinating national and international communication from its offices and managing media relations. She was also head of Press, Radio and Publications at the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, an institution where she began her professional career in 1997.
In the academic sphere, Diana is an associate lecturer at the Camilo José Cela University. For many years she has taught on higher education programmes at different institutions: the MA in Corporate and Institutional Communication (Carlos III University of Madrid), the MBA in Luxury Brands and Lifestyle (Elle Education and the Mindway House of Education) and the online Certificate of Advanced Study in Cultural Industries (the Ortega-Marañón University Institute of Research and the Organisation of Ibero-American States). By the same token, she has taught on civil service training courses, teaching subjects such as the course on Managing Social Media in Archives, Libraries and Museums (Madrid City Council’s Training School).
She is also part of the Institute of Culture and Technology at the Carlos III University of Madrid.
