Dennis Oppenheim

This video documents the process involved in mounting Dennis Oppenheim’s sculptural installation Aging (1974), the conservation and exhibition of which entail labour-intensive production, maintenance and adaptation work owing to the use of perishable materials — particularly the wax figures — and technical devices predisposed to becoming obsolete. The aim of preserving the conceptual and formal totality of the installation requires transversal work between different specialists in the Museo, with a central role played by the Conservation and Restoration Department.
