Segunda Serie Roja (Second Red Series)

Since the early 1980s, Luis Gordillo has primarily made series in which he gesturally applies paint on ever-broader spaces, demonstrating his obsession with repetition, fragmentation and compartmentalisation. In Second Red Series, a horizontal polyptych composition, the resonances generated by a first unit create an ensemble characterised by the accumulation of forms and the use of a pared-down palette of colours.
