The Museo Reina Sofía Library and Documentation Centre, in collaboration with PhotoBook Club Madrid, organises Harvest, an annual public encounter which presents photobook mock-ups and is open to artists of every stripe.

Photobooks have become one of the most important vehicles of expression in contemporary photographic creation and Harvest 2021 is an encounter that seeks to gauge and share today’s activity in this field.

The page layout is a key aspect in the process of creating a book-work, given its relation to the point at which materials are prepared, the design is realised, images are sequenced, and the tactile qualities of the work are explored. In short, it is the time when decisions are made on the physical object and its capacity for communication.

Harvest 2021, therefore, sets out a debate and reflection around publishing and producing photobooks, inviting people immersed in the layout phase of a project to share their photographic works with the other participants.
