The Museo Reina Sofía has various temporary exhibitions in the three Museo venues: the Main, the Palacio de Cristal and the Palacio de Velázquez. The last two in the Parque del Retiro, with free access.

The Museo Reina Sofía rehangs its Collection with a willingness to offer narratives and experiences which, without seeking to be exhaustive or categorical, speak of the present time through the critical study of the common past.

The purpose of this activity is to help visitors understand how and why Guernica by Pablo Picassohas become a symbol of Spain's transition to democracy and a universally recognised icon. Access to the guided tour is free with general admission to the Museum.
