Javier Riera

Throughout the career of Javier Riera a constant interest in nature is expounded from an “inner vision”, the references of which can be found in a passage stretching from Friedrich to Pablo Palazuelo. In the site-specific project presented inside the framework of the programme Productions in the Museo Reina Sofía, Riera eschews pictorial procedure, turning things around by working directly with other media: light and nature. Approaching the poetics of Land Art, he projects geometric light drawings on the night-time landscape, presented to the viewer as a photographic series.
