Research defines the rationale of the CEMRS, determining objectives, work methods, temporalities and forms of independent dissemination and distribution regarding the demands of cultural production as well as addressing processes of medium- and long-term knowledge and experimentation.

The CEMRS has an extensive programme of residencies that aims to connect research processes from highly diverse fields of knowledge, work methods and origins, encouraging their link to the expanded community of the Study Centre and the different projects developed by the Museo.

Moreover, the CEMRS is offered as a platform and resource for independent research and debate groups – joined by their areas of interest – that see the Museo as an open space for encounters and mediation with other types of knowledge and processes. These initiatives advocate an expanded notion of the academic institution and the Museo.
