Taster Tour of the Museo and its Collection
The first question that springs to visitors’ minds when they enter the Museo is: Where do I start? To answer this question and for first-time visitors to the Collection to get their bearings, this taster tour is made available, whereby the Mediation Team offers key routes and pointers to plan an independent visit.

Displacing Guernica
Tour for Adults Around Works in the Collection
This guided tour surveys the rooms of the Museo Reina Sofía Collection housing Pablo Picasso’s Guernica and framing its historical context, inviting visitors to think about how and why the work has become a political symbol of the end of Spain’s Transition to democracy and a timeless, universally recognised icon.

Spain: Art and Society in the 1950s and 1960s
Senior Citizens
Spain: Art and Society in the 1959s and 1960s sets out an analysis of the Spanish artistic landscape following the Civil War and World War II. It focuses on the uniqueness of the time as a turning point in the return to experimentation after the trauma created by the conflicts. To illustrate the discourse, the visit takes us through works by artists including Eugene Smith, Antoni Tàpies and Equipo 57.
