What is RSS?

RSS is an Internet format for customizing your subscription to web pages that automatically send you news to a reader program, also called an “RSS feed reader.” The initials RSS stand for Really Simple Syndication, where “syndication” means “to publish articles simultaneously in different media through one source that belong to it.”

The Museo Reina Sofía launches this free service for users to have convenient, instant access to all of the news we publish on our website, organized by subject matter and area of interest.

RSS Readers

You have several options when using RSS feeds. One of the most common options involves installing a program called a “feed reader” or “aggregator” that automatically checks all of your website subscriptions and shows new published updates for each one. You can also add the Museo Reina Sofía’s RSS to your bookmarked websites and preferences.

Advantages

RSS is an important step in web access since it compiles updates from all web pages into a single source. In this manner, you have all the updated information you choose available to you at once. With syndication, you never have to navigate different web pages to read what interests you or subscribe to e-mail lists that fill your inbox with unnecessary mail.
