Workshop Tours

The Workshop Tours Programme is aimed at Secondary Education and College students and is associated with the Museum’s programme of temporary exhibitions.

Its main objectives are to make the Museum a familiar space for students so that they feel comfortable giving their opinions and to develop their abilities to analyse artistic expression and give them resources to be able to face the images around them with critical awareness.

The workshop tours are divided into two parts: the first lets the students come into contact with the paintings, encouraging them to participate and give their own personal opinions, and the second offers practical experimentation, which compliments some of the issues presented during the tour.

School of Art students collaborate with this programme thanks to the agreement with the Education Department of the Community of Madrid.

Two workshop tours on the following temporary exhibitions are planned for the 2006/2007 school year:

First generation: art and image in motion (1963-1986). During this workshop tour, participants will learn how video became a vehicle of creation for an entire generation of artists. From November 15th 2006 to February 23rd 2007.
