Cristina Iglesias

Cristina Iglesias’ exhibition at the Palacio de Velázquez gathers the specific work of an artist that tends to adapt the contents of her oeuvre and how it is displayed to the architectonic surroundings presented to her. Her organic sculpture presents the viewer with disjunctives as how to perceive and explore each exhibition. In the texts gathered in this catalogue, Iglesias’ work is analysed through the Freudian concept of “screen memory” (which hides and reveals at the same time), recreating her means of production and further exploring her works as creator of symbolic refuge spaces.
