Collection 3 A Paradigm ShiftThe decades of the 1960's and 1970's involve a radical transformation in the spaces, practices, and genres received from the historical avant-garde. This heterogeneous group of artists and perspectives leaves behind the safety of the traditional frames of art, in order to enter the realm of contingency, of process, and of the mass media, extending the artistic reflections of the beginning of the century and connecting with the debates and the conflicts of these decades, which were vital in the definition of the culture of the present. The proposal aims at breaking with the canonical reading of history, providing a space for highly diverse poetics and politics, thus echoing the heterogeneous nature of the art of the present. The majority of the works on show are recent acquisitions, and are exhibited for the first time in the Museum.
