Neo-Realism in Spanish Photography

In the fifties and sixties the work of several Spanish photographers revealed a stylistic renewal that highlighted realist and documentary approaches to the stage of life, as opposed to the expressionist subjectivism of contemporary abstract painting. Francesc Català-Roca was a forerunner of the photographic avant-garde in Spain, even as regards the use of publications to promote the visibility of his work.
